My Very 1st Braid Out
24 MayI tried my very 1st braid out since being natural. I did it on a 5 day old wash n’ go using Shea Moisture Curl & Style Milk. This was my first time using this product.
As you can see I’m still getting used to the center part but I’m forcing myself to wear it proud! Lol!
I’m not sure how I feel about the Shea Moisture Curl and Style Milk just yet. My hair felt greasy but I love the slip that it gives and the scent is nice. I would like to use it a few more times before making a true determination.
Now this braid out… It wasn’t as I hoped. It was pretty frizzy with the humidity and because my hair takes forever and three days to dry. But it wasn’t too bad. I felt a bit awkward but got a lot of compliments on it today.
I liked that I could see more of my length and while I was on the fence I did like the volume of my big hair.

Stretching My Wash n’ Go Curls
16 May
As promised here is the video where I show you how I stretch my wash n’ go curls! I did my wash n’ go in the afternoon, air dried for a few hours then pineappled overnight. This video shows how I stretch my curls with heat. As well, I explain how I stretch without heat by pineappling my hair overnight and how I upkeep my wash n’ go throughout the week.
Hope this helps!

Rocking the Low Pony!!!
15 MayI’ve been rocking this same low pony for 4 days now. I think I’m getting used to it and loving the switch up. Haven’t worn this style on a long time!
Major shrinkage but it hadn’t bothered me at all. I kind of like the thick curly puff in the back! I may try bunning this style as it gets older.
I this is a great summer style for me!
My Struggle with “Twist Outs”
7 MayI seem to be struggling with wearing twistouts.
I have worn a twist out probably 3 times since I’ve been natural. So, I decided to bite the bullet, step out of my comfort zone and experiment with wearing a twist out again as well as trying a center part in my hair. Sigh… I usually don’t wear center part styles because I don’t feel that it looks good on me.
Because my hair takes forever to dry by morning my hair is still wet and me taking the twist down causes it to frizz like crazy. As for the center part… I wore it the whole day but can’t foresee that I will be wearing it again anytime soon. Just not my style I guess. I couldn’t wait to get home to tame my hair.
I decided to give it another go and this morning my hair was still wet even though I did not soak my hair with water yesterday evening. When I took them down it was a hot frizzy mess. So I accepted the defeat and ended up putting my hair in a sad little bun.
It ended up being my first bun on my natural hair! That’s something huh? Lol!
The other reasons Im not fond of twistouts for my hair is the manipulation of it. Perhaps if my hair dries faster I wouldn’t have such a hard time with feeling the need to re twist it.
Plus, I think I like my natural curls better. With my wash n’ go I don’t have to redo my hair again for a whole week & my curls hold fine without frizz because I’m not touching it until its dry. With me having the twist all over my head I have no other choice than to touch it because I have to go to work. I don’t want to blow dry or diffuse or use heat on it just to dry. As you know I prefer to air dry.
Perhaps, as I get more tips I will try again in the future but since my current regimen isn’t broken I won’t keep trying to fix it.
Here are some pics from my failed attempts of doing the Twistout:
Fun Natural Hairstyle for Shopping with Teenagers
7 MayThis weekend we celebrated my daughter becoming a teenager! That’s right… She’s 13 now. Sigh…
Headed out for a day of shopping with her friends I wanted a hairstyle that was fun!
I decided to pin the sides back creating a hump then leaving some bangs out in front and letting the rest of my hair down in the back.
